After the success of last year's transcendental full length Ecstatic Arrow, experimental pop project Virginia Wing have just dropped an 11 track EP in Pale Burnt Lake. Scuttling off on a series of tiny tangents from the EP's fully-realised title-track, the additional tracks consist mainly of snippets of ideas and whimsical interludes. Breaking the 4 minute mark, 'Pale Burnt Lake' is by far the EP's longest track. Pairing a bouncy bass line with ethereally churning sound effects and exotic bursts of instrumentation, it's easily one of the project's most immersive pieces to date. Arriving alongside a DIY-inspired video by Martha Orchard, it's definitely worth your time. -Holly Mullineaux
